Underreported Skype news: Intel offers a VoIP Skype bundle-Louis Philip. June 16th, 2005 Big names, little news
BTW, has anyone noticed some of the text ad's
appearing on Yahoo. As some may know Skype has an
affiliate program which allows web publishers to put
up Skype ad's on their site. When a user clicks on the
link or image it takes them to Skype's homepage. If
the user purchases any of Skype's premium services
within 30 days then the affiliate gets a small
commission. SummitCircle.com is an affiliate, this
program has been great for us. What we have noticed is
that some "entrepreneurs" believe that they can make a
business simply by purchasing advertising on Yahoo and
sending clicks through to Skype. If you go to Yahoo
and search on Skype you will notice sites like
http://www.websquare.com/sites/out.php?id=1746 and
http://www.9malls.com/skyper.html.... we wonder how
this business model can work? Louis Philip is the owner of SummitCircle.com where he writes about the world of Skype and maintains the largest Skype resource site on the web. He can be reached by e-mail: louisphilip@summitcircle.com |
