Underreported Skype news: Intel offers a VoIP Skype bundle -Louis Philip. June 16th, 2005 Big names, little news One piece of news that seemed to be completely under-reported came with the title: Intel readies 64-bit Celerons, updates software roadmap Deep in the middle of the article we found the quote: "It will also introduce a series of promotions in the second half of this year, including Premium Video, Digital Media Adaptor, Remote Control - a Logitech Harmony remote - and a VoIP Skype offer as bundles." Way to got Skype! A recent Skype add-on release that has certainly been well reported (and received) was the Dialcom Video4Skype release. Their web site is now claiming over 200,000 downloads in the first week. This has got to be the most successful Skype plug-in to date. You can always find a list of all plug-ins, add-ons and other Skype integrations here at SummitCircle. BTW, has anyone noticed some of the text ad's appearing on Yahoo. As some may know Skype has an affiliate program which allows web publishers to put up Skype ad's on their site. When a user clicks on the link or image it takes them to Skype's homepage. If the user purchases any of Skype's premium services within 30 days then the affiliate gets a small commission. SummitCircle.com is an affiliate, this program has been great for us. What we have noticed is that some "entrepreneurs" believe that they can make a business simply by purchasing advertising on Yahoo and sending clicks through to Skype.
